Where to Stay in NYC for St. Patrick’s Day
There are three main areas I’d recommend staying in NYC for St. Patrick’s Day. Financial District is closest to Stone Street, Gramercy Park is home to some of NYC’s best Irish bars, and Midtown is best for being near the parade.
Financial District – New York Marriott Downtown
If you want to be near Stone Street, while also not being too far from Gramercy Park and the parade route try the financial district. It tends to be easier to find more reasonably prices hotels in this neighborhood one the weekends than some other areas of Manahattan.
The Marriott Downtown was a great spot with an on-site restaurant, epic sunset views and decent sixed rooms for NYC.
Gramercy Park –
Gramercy Park is a neighborhood on the East Side of Manhattan near Union Square and the East Village. This neighborhood is home to some of my top Irish pub recommendaitons for a St. Patrick’s Day weekend in New York.
Try the Freehand New York Hotel. The location is perfect and the hotel has 5 different bars and restaurants.

Midtown – Bryant Park Hotel
If you’re looking to stay close to the parade route, one of my favorite hotels in this area is the Bryant Park Hotel (this is also a great place to stay at Christmastime) Bryant Park is right near the 5th ave & 44th strert area where the parade starts.
The location is key for this hotel, the rooms were standard for NYC, a bit small, but modern and clean. The hotel also had a cool lounge/bar in the basement that was fun to grab a few drinks at after dinner.

Best things to do in NYC for St. Patrick’s Day
Stone Street St. Patrick’s Day Festival
Stone Street is a pedestrican- only historic district in NYC’s FInancial District. Every year for St. Patrick’s Day the bars and restaurants in this area throw a massive block party that spills out from the bars onto the streets. You’ll find vendors inside and outside selling beers/cocktails.
Usuallty this happens the weekend of St Patrick’s Day on Saturday and Sunday. It gets absolutely chaotic, but it’s so fun! Stone Street has been a popular drinking spot in NYC forever, it was home to some of the first breweries in the city.
It’s free to visit, just bring cash in case you want to buy something from a vendor that is cash only

Gramercy Park Pub Crawl
If you’re looking to explore NYC’s best Irish pubs, the Gramercy Park area is home to some of the options. They’re all in a few block radius, making for an easy route to pub crawl!
- Paddy Reilley’s Music Bar
- Fitzgerald’s Pub
- Paddy Maguire’s Ale House
- McSorley’s Old Ale House
- Swift Hibernian Lounge

St Patrick’s Day Parade
New York is home to one of the biggest St Patrick’s Day parades in the US. For 2026 the parade will be on St Patrick’s Day, March 17th. The parade is on 5th avenue. It starts on 44th street and ends at 5th ave and 79th street. It starts at 11AM and ends around 4:30 PM.
Parade info can be found here.
