fall in the White Mountains of New Hampshire is unlike anywhere else 🍁🍂 and driving the Kancamagus Highway in North Conway, NH is my top fall New England rec!

There’s so many things to do in the White Mountains - I highly recommend basing yourself in North Conway, all my recommendations for an epic fall getaway below:

1. 🍁Drive the Kancamagus Highway (and stop at Lower Falls, Rocky Gorge, Sugar Hill Vista & Lincoln Woods Trailhead

2. 🏔️Head to the Cog Railway at the base of Mt. Washington for the best views

3. 🥂 Drinks at Omni Mt Washington - this is the most epic place in the White Mountains for a drink with a view - the foliage is insane

4. 🚂 take the North Conway Scenic Rail (or drive the route - it’s on the way to Mt Washington) stop at Willey House & Crawford Notch

5. 🎃Head to the little town of Jackson to see the foliage at Jackson falls and all the pumpkin people displays

6. 🍎 get cider and donuts at @whitemountaincidercompany

7. 🍷try the homemade wines & ciders at @alpinegardenwinery - this place is the absolute cutest to spend some time in the afternoon with wine & foliage

European Christmas Market rankings ⬇️

I visited 11 Christmas Markets in 6 countries last year 🎄✨😍 it was a literal dream. Here are my rankings to help plan your Christmas Market trip!

1 Dresden 🇩🇪- best overall
Germany is famous for its Christmas markets for a reason & Dresden is the best of the best. It’s said the be the oldest Christmas market in the world & is my absolute top recommendation

2 Salzburg 🇦🇹- most picturesque
Salzburg was a literal snowglobe and the whole town feels like it’s out of a story book. This was one of my absolute favorite stops

3 Prague 🇨🇿 - best tree
Prague was one of the most stunning of the markets I visited - the prettiest tree, great food, and a chance to visit one of Europe’s best cities

4 Bolzano 🇮🇹 - most underrated
Italy is not well known for their Christmas markets, but Bolzano, a small town in the Dolomites goes all out for Christmas

5 Vienna 🇦🇹 - most over the top
Vienna pulls out all the stops for Christmas! There are Christmas Markets everywhere - I visited 7 in one day. Their infamous market at Rathausplatz is the most well known Christmas market in the world - and it lives up!

7 Bruges 🇧🇪
The whole charming city of Bruges feels like you’re in a real life Christma fairytale

6 Innsbruck 🇦🇹 - most underrated
Innsbruck is so close to Salzburg but often gets left off Christmas Market lists- this mountain towns offers some of the best snowy Alp views to go with their markets

8 Budapest 🇭🇺 - best food
These markets had the most amazing food options featuring all the Hungarian specialties - goulash, chicken paprika, langos, potato pancakes, sausages & more

9 Essen 🇩🇪 - prettiest lights
I preferred Dresden to Essen but Essens stunning light display was worth the trip! This market is less popular with tourists and has a more local feel

10 Brussels 🇧🇪 - most diverse
Brussels wasn’t my favorite of the markets I visited but I did love the international food and drink stands it was so fun to explore and try delicacies from all over the world

11 Düsseldorf 🇩🇪-
This market was SO crowded I truthfully didn’t enjoy the markets here as much as any of the other markets I visited

📍Miramonti Boutique Hotel

This hotel was on my bucket list for so long and lived up to every expectation: the two infinity pools with mountain views were unreal, especially at sunset

Visit the Thermal Baths 🫧

Budapest’s Thermal Baths are a huge part of its culture and visiting one (or several) of these famous spas is a can’t miss experience in Budapest!

In Hungary, thermal baths and their mineral rich waters are used to relax, as medical treatments & many people even drink the waters for internal health benefits

Some of my favorites:

Széchenyi Thermal Bath - the most famous (and largest) in Budapest. This iconic spa with its signature yellow bathhouses feels like visiting a castle. To avoid crowds head there right when they open! Deep in the Pest side of Buda you can get here via public transport - it’s also right near heroes square if you want to see both at once!

Rudas Baths - my personal favorite, Rida bath highlight is a rooftop hot tub with epic panoramic views over Budapest! The rest of the baths are indoors and are cool, but the roof stole the show. This one is on the Buda side right on the river!

Gellért Baths - probably the most beautiful, Gellért art nouveau style features mosaic tiles & stained glass windows. It’s on the Buda side next to Gellért Hill (the best place to watch the sunset in Budapest!)
