North Conway is one of my favorite areas of New Hampshire. It’s nestled right in the heart of the White Mountains, which makes it the perfect vacation spot for any season. My family has been visiting North Conway multiple times a year ever since I was a kid, and we always end up eating a lot out of meals out after long days of exploring. North Conway (and the surrounding area) has some great restaurant options, no matter what your budget/taste.
I’ve compiled my ultimate list of best restaurants in North Conway (with map) below!

Best Restaurants in North Conway Map

Best Restaurants for Families in North Conway
Red Fox
Best Overall
One of my overall top recommendations for restaurants in North Conway (especially with families or big parties) is the Red Fox! This place is delicious, huge, has tons of large tables to accommodate big parties, a large menu with something for every taste, a lively bar, great ambiance & more! Be warned this place gets crazy busy, despite how big it is, they do have call ahead seating and take reservations if you call, highly recommend!
Red Fox is in Jackson about 10-15 minutes north of North Conway!
Delaney’s Hole in the Wall
Best Variety
Delaney’s Hole in the Wall is another popular family spot in North Conway, this place has tons of tables, a large menu selection, is loud & kid friendly. Same as Muddy Moose, it gets crowded and they don’t do reservations so be prepared to wait during busy seasons! It’s located conveniently right on Rt. 16 in North Conway.
Muddy Moose
Most Fun for Kids
The Muddy Moose is arguably the most infamous spot for families in North Conway, this place is always SO crowded, and for good reason. Super kid friendly, conveniently located right in downtown North Conway on Rt. 16, decent food for reasonable prices. They don’t take reservations, so be prepared for a wait, especially if you’re heading there at prime family dinner time between 5-7, it dies down a bit if you head there on the later side!

Lobster Trap
Best Seafood & Onion Rings
Lobster Trap is a good spot to try if you’re trying to avoid some of the insane wait times you find at the restaurants on Rt. 16, hidden on West Side Rd. this one tends to get a bit less crowded I think just because it is more off the beaten path. This is a great spot for grab seafood, they also have a wide offering of Italian food. My family stops at this place every year almost solely for the onion rings (they are literally the best handmade shoestring onion rings on the planet) highly recommend!

Mae Kelly’s Cottage
Best Patio & Views
Mae Kelley’s is another longtime favorite (this is my parents favorite spot by far. There are lots of tables, and a big patio with the best sunset views over the mountains,No reservations here either, so be prepared for a bit of a wait as they draw quite a crowd

Best Pubs/Taverns in North Conway
Shannon Door
Best Bar Pizzas & Best Pub Vibs
One of my absolute favorite spots in this area is Shannon Door. Located in charming Jackson Village Shannon Door is the perfect spot for live music, bar food, friendly staff & locals and a laid back meal. Their bar pizzas are my absolute favorite!

Sea Dog Brewing
Best Late Night Option
Sea Dog is a great option if you’re looking to stay right in downtown North Conway. They have a large bar, live music, good food & stay open later than many of the other restaurants in the North Conway area.

Red Parka Pub
Best Pub with a Full Menu
Red Parka Pub is another long time favorite of mine! This place has a great pub feel with traditional bar food, but also great steaks. The bar is lively, friendly, has live music and great staff. They also have an awesome patio if the weather is nice. They close on the earlier side, so this is great for some afternoon/early evening drinks & music.
Wildcat Inn & Tavern
Wildcat Inn & Tavern is another local restaurant & pub in Jackson. The pub side boasts live music & ski lodge vibes, while the restaurants serves elevated pub fare. Check their website for opening days and hours, as they often only open certain days a week!

Best Italian Restaurant in North Conway
Vito Marcello’s Italian Bistro
If you’re craving Italian while you’re up in North Conway, don’t miss Vito Marcello’s! This place serves the best Italian food in the area in a charming atmosphere right off the main strip in North Conway. It’s on the smaller side and not equipped to accommodate bigger parties, so I don’t recommend heading there with a large group. Reservations are also recommended, given it’s size.

Best Takeout in North Conway
Beef & Ski
Beef & Ski is a North Conway staple for roast beef, sandwiches, dinner plates and more. This casual spot is right in downtown North Conway – you can grab takeout or dine in on their patio with mountain views over the North Conway Rail Station. The roast beefs, steak & cheese, & fried seafood plates are all worth a try!
Boston Brothers Pizzeria
If you’re looking to just grab a pizza after a long day of hiking, skiing, swimming, etc. Boston Brothers Pizzeria in downtown North Conway is my top pizza recommendation in the area. Friendly owners, great pizza, and a convenient location make this our go -to spot.

Cheese Louise
One of my family’s absolute favorite stops is for grilled cheeses at Cheese Louise on our way to Lower Falls on the Kancamagus Highway. My nephew talks about these grilled cheeses all year! Great stop for a quick lunch while you’re exploring! They have a few locations around North Conway.

Best Mexican Restaurant North Conway
El Reparo
El Reparo is a newer spot that’s popped up in the last few years. It’s taken my place as the best Mexican in North Conway (we used to always go to Fiesta Jalisco, which is good, but El Reparo is better IMO) They have a huge menu! It’s loud, fun and good with kids. They get food out fast, so the wait is not too bad! Also, don’t skip the fried ice cream!

Other Great North Conway Restaurants
Horsefeathers
Horsefeathers is a downtown North Conway staple. This pub & restaurant is located right on the main street of North Conway next to the infamous Zeb’s and has been there for as long as I an remember. Can’t go wrong with this old classic!
Flatbread Co.
Flatbread Co. in the Eastern Slop Inn Resort is a great option for pizza in North Conway. They use only the freshest ingredients & also have great options for dietary restrictions like gluten and dairy. Some of my favorite pizza around!

1869 Room at the Wentworth
If you’re looking for a more upscale dining option, try 1869 Room at the Wentworth Inn in Jackson. This fine dining establishment is in one of the most picturesque inns in the White Mountains. You can make reservations on Open Table ahead of time (highly recommended) The menu is smaller and more upscale thana lot of the other options in the area. They also have a great cocktail bar called Alpine, for after dinner drinks!

Moat Mountain Smokehouse
Last, but not least, is Moat Mountain Smokehouse (and brewery) is another great North Conway option. Moat has great beer, but this is also one of the only spots in North Conway where you’ll find BBQ style food. This is another spot that draws quite a crowd, so be prepared for a bit of a wait!
