Bolzano is often referred to as the gateway to the Dolomites and has lots of hotel options, making it a good spot to explore from. Bolzano also has lots of great restaurants. Restaurant 1908 at Parkhotel Holzner
For an upscale restaurant, or just a drink with a view, Restaurant 1908 is the the best spot to try! You’ll need to take the cable car from downtown Bozlzano up to Soprabolzano. The cable car takes about 15 minutes. This spot has the best patio, and I highly recommend visiting for lunch or sunset. The views over the Dolomites are absolutely epic.
Meta SkyBar
If you’re looking for views, but something a little closer to downtown Bolzano, Meta Skybar offers some of the best views in Bolzano. This charming restaurant/bar has a large rooftop patio and is right off the main square in Bolzano. During the winter the patio remains open and offers some of the best views of the Bolzano Christmas Market and Christmas tree.
