Lofoten Islands Norway was one of my very favorite trips. This remote area in Northern Norway is not necessarily a foodie destination, there aren’t an overwhelming amount of restaurants options, but I did find some good spots on my week there. I’ve compiled my 15 top recommendations by town below to help you find the best spots to eat near where you’re staying!

Best Restaurants Leknes
Digg Lofoten
A cozy spot in downtown Lofoten, Digg serves burgers, fish & chips, lamb and other hearty comfort foods. This place also has a cool bar and a downstairs lounge/club. It was one of the only real options for nightlife I saw.
Lille Milano Pizza
A simple Italian spot in downtown Leknes. They have a sit down restaurant, but I grabbed a pizza to go and brought it to watch the sun set over the mountains. 10/10 recommend
Makalaus
One of the best options in Leknes with the most variety – pastas, salads, burgers, entrees and more!

Sakura Lofoten Leknes
An unexpected find in Lofoten, Sakura is a sushi buffet with amazing tempura!
Lofoten Bakeri
Norway has an amazing cafe culture, and Lofoten has some great bakeries/cofee shops. Lofoten Bakeri was one of my absolute favortites, the cinammon roll was unreal!
Huset Kafé
Another cozy cafe in Lofoten that I loved! Great spot to hang on a lazy morning!
Best Restaurants Svolvær
Pizzeria Fellni
A nice spot for pizzas (and a few other things) in downtown Svolvær, they had tons of pizza options, so good!

Bacalao
A trendy spot right on the Svolvær harbor, Bacalao is a cool restaurant/bar. They have a cozy patio open year round and fully equiped with fur blankets and heat lamps! This spot is a little more upscale
Paleo Arctic
An upscale seafood spor with stunning views of Svolvær Harbor. I’d recommend making reservations here for dinner it gets busy!

A cozy, traditionally decorated spot in the Anker Brygge hotel serving traditional North Norwegian cuisine. This is another good dinner option

Vind Brasserie
Traditional Norwegian restaurant in the Henningsvær Bryggehotell. The menu consists of seafood, steaks, venison and more. All featuring local ingredients!

A cozy, unique spot in Henningsvær, Klatrekaféen is a cafe, restaurant, pub combo. It’s a perfect represenation of trendy Henningsvær

A popular seafood restaurant in Henningsvær, they have a cute patio. Try the fish soup!

Best Restaurants in Reine
Underhuset
Was not expecting to find a Mexican restaurant in Lofoten, but this spot was a hidden gem in Reine! The barbacoa tacos were amazing!
Tapperiet Bistro
A popular spot in Reine in a traditional atmosphere. Casual food like pizza & burgers with an outdoor patio that has some of the best views in Reine!
