Fairytale towns in Europe series part 3/3⬇️

Love all the fairytale towns and cities in Europe that make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time or into a storybook. Sharing some of my favorites here!

1. Polignano a Mare, Italy 🇮🇹

This seaside town in Puglia features stunning whitewashed houses, epic cliff side views over the ocean and the most charming alleyways for exploring

2. Dresden, Germany 🇩🇪

Dresden really does feel like a fairytale with its Gothic castles and impressive skyline, visiting during Christmas was one of my favorite things ever

3. Innsbruck, Austria 🇦🇹

This colorful town nestled in the Austrian Alps is so dreamy and one of my favorite places to visit. Get lost among the rainbow buildings and cobblestone streets

4. Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland 🇨🇭

The Swiss Alps are filled with little towns that feel like they’re straight off a movie set, but Lauterbrunnen is one of my favorites with its chalet style houses and epic freefalling waterfall

5. Dubrovnik, Croatia 🇭🇷

If you’ve watched Game of Thrones this one actually does feel like something out of a fantasy. The popular city was where they shot many scenes for Kings Landing. Despite its popularity, Walking the walls of the Old Town really does feel like travelling back in time

I’m sort of embarrassed to admit I had no idea what these were before seeing them on instagram 🤣despite having spent months & months in Florence before, but made it my mission to find the best wine windows in Florence on my recent trip!

These Buchetta del Vino (wine windows) date back to the 1600s, but mostly fell out of use until recently being rediscovered during Covid as a “contactless” way to serve wine

Now they’re just a fun way to break up your sightseeing! Most of these are located in the city center and the Santo Spirito neighborhood (a lively neighborhood across the Arno with tons of great restaurants and bars - this area is much more popular with locals than the city center)

🍷 Wine window locations:

1️⃣ Cantina de Pucci, City Center

2️⃣ Osteria Belle Donne, City Center

3️⃣Il Latini, City Center (this is also one of my top restaurant recommendations in Florence - absolute best spot for a traditional meal)

4️⃣ Babae, Santo Spirito

5️⃣ Osteria San Fiorenzo, Santa Croce

5 days in Iceland itinerary ⬇️

Iceland is potentially my favorite country I’ve ever visited! Here’s how I’d spend 5 days:

Day 1️⃣
🔵head to the Blue Lagoon straight from the airport! It’s closer to the airport than Reykjavik so it’s easier to stop on your way there. Give yourself a few hours! Parking is free or there are transfer options.

🌃Head to Reykjavik, check into your hotel - I loved Hotel Reykjavik Saga

Spend the rest of the day exploring the city
- Hallgrímskirkja church - go to the top for the best views
- Main Streets: Laugavegur, Austurstræti & Hafnarstræti

Day 2️⃣
🟡 Golden circle highlights! Do this on your own with a car or as a guided tour
- Thingvellir National Park - give yourself about an hour to explore
-Bruarfoss Waterfall- a quick 5 min walk to the most stunning blue waterfall
- Geysir - give yourself about 30 minute. This rest stop has several restaurants if you want lunch
-Gullfoss waterfall - we only stayed here 30 min cus it was SO windy and cold
- Kerid Crater

✨at night head to the Sky Lagoon (my favorite!) it’s not far from downtown!

Day 3️⃣ South Coast!
🗻Reykjadalur Thermal Hot Spring River - hike into some of Iceland’s best natural hot springs (need about 3 hours)

🌅Seljalandsfoss waterfall - my favorite of the waterfalls! Hike behind for epic views and visit the secret falls next door

🌈Skogafoss Waterfall - this stunning massive waterfall was featured in Game of Thrones! Also if you’re lucky you’ll see the rainbows at the base of the waterfall they’re epic

🌊 Reynisfjara Beach - visit the infamous black sand beach

🏠Vik - end your day in this charming town where you’ll spend the night. Head to the church for the best views. Head to a local restaurant- The Soup Company was amazing!

Day 4️⃣
💎Diamond Beach & Glacier Lagoon - wake up early and visit two epic

😴spend the night at Hotel Klaustur (great place to see the northern lights if they’re out)

Day 5️⃣
Head back towards Reykjavik with a stop at
Hvammsvik Hot Springs 🌊 these oceanside natural hot springs are absolutely real and were one of my favorite stops in Iceland
