Planning a trip to the Greek Islands is overwhelmi Planning a trip to the Greek Islands is overwhelming, I got you covered with your Greek island cheat sheet 🇬🇷

To be clear i’ve never met a Greek Island that I didn’t love but here’s my breakdown⬇️

🌅 Santorini
Go: bucket list sunsets in Oia, caldera boat tours, Santo Wines, the most iconic views in Greece
Skip: massive crowds in high season, no sandy beaches, pricy, LOTS of stairs
Easy to combine with: Mykonos or Paros via ferry

🏖️ Crete
Go: my personal favorite — less touristy, cheap, best food, unreal landscapes, world-famous beaches (Elafonisi, Balos, Falasarna)
Skip: it’s massive — you need a car and more time than you think. Not easy to combine via ferry, you want traditional whitewashed village vibes

💎 Milos
Go: the most unique landscape in Greece, and a close second for my favorite — volcanic beaches, Sarakiniko, colorful fishing villages, overall unreal vibes
Skip: harder to reach than the other Cyclades islands and quieter if you want to party.
Easy to combine with: Santorini or Paros via ferry

🌸 Paros
Go: charming towns, colorful doorways, sandy beaches, beautiful coastal drive, quieter than Mykonos
Skip: if you want dramatic views go to Santorini, if you want a party go to Mykonos — Paros is the perfect middle though.
Easy to combine with: Antiparos, Naxos (30 min), Mykonos, Santorini — all easy ferry rides

🌿 Naxos Go: lush, laid back, olive groves, citrus — feels the most local of the Cyclades
Skip: quieter vibe — not ideal if nightlife or drama is what you’re after
Easy to combine with: Paros (30 min ferry)

🌊 Corfu
Go: stunning sandy beaches, lush mountains, Venetian-inspired Corfu Town, cute villages and fun nightlife, more affordable than the Cyclades
Skip: need a car, have to fly — can’t easily add to a Cyclades trip
Easy to combine with: a day trip to Paxos & Antipaxos

🎉 Mykonos
Go: stunning whitewashed town, epic windmill sunsets at Little Venice, glamorous beach scene
Skip: the most expensive island on this list and it knows it
Easy to combine with: Paros & Naxos (both under 30 min by ferry)

Yeah yeah, you should see the Louvre...and the Arc Yeah yeah, you should see the Louvre...and the Arc de Triomphe and the Orsay.. But drinking a bottle of wine at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower? That’s the real can’t-miss. 🍷🗼

Grab a bottle from any corner shop for under €10, find your spot on the Champ de Mars, and just… sit with it for a while, preferably at sunset and until darkness sets and the tower lights up.

No reservation, no dress code, no €25 cocktail. Just you, cheap wine, and one of the most iconic views on earth.

Paris has a million things to do and you should absolutely do the museums and the pastries and the walking until your feet give out. But this one? Non-negotiable.

The best day trips in Italy all start in Florence. The best day trips in Italy all start in Florence.

I’ve spent months there across multiple trips and have done every single one of these — here are the 10 best day trips from my very favorite city:

🍷 Tuscan wine tour — my #1, don’t even think about skipping it
🏖️ Cinque Terre — a long day but absolutely worth it
🏰 San Gimignano — quintessential Tuscany
🍝 Bologna — a foodie dream and only 40 minutes by train
🌹 Verona — Romeo & Juliet vibes, 90 minutes from Florence
🗼 Pisa — quick stop, best combined with Lucca
🏛️ Siena — stunning medieval city with rooftops to match
🌄 Fiesole — easy half day with panoramic views over Florence

And two that can be done as day trips — but I’d really recommend staying and only resorting to this if you’re short on time
🛶 Venice — 2+ hours each way and it deserves way more than part of a day
🏟️ Rome — impossible to do it justice in one day, trust me

Miramonti Boutique Hotel — Merano, Italy

I like to splurge on at least one hotel for every longer trip and this hotel had been on my bucket list for years before I finally booked it — and it somehow exceeded every single expectation.

The infinity pool alone is worth the trip. Open year round, stunning mountain views in every direction, and the best sunset spot I found in the Dolomites region. I genuinely could not leave it.

Beyond the pool there’s a second onsen pool higher up the mountain, saunas, steam rooms and cold plunges accessed via a charming set of wooden steps winding through the mountains, multiple restaurants including a fine dining panorama restaurant with views that will stop you mid-bite, and a mountain view from every single room.

I stayed in a standard suite, had one of the most comfortable sleeps of my life, and spent two perfect nights here. At $600 a night in April (off season!) it was not cheap — but I have absolutely zero regrets. Hence the car payment. Sometimes you’ve got to treat yourself 💁🏻‍♀️🤣
