Budapest ruined me. I’ve visited dozens of cities Budapest ruined me.

I’ve visited dozens of cities across Europe and nothing quite compares — Budapest is chic, lively, and electric in a way that genuinely caught me off guard, and just genuinely cooler than any other city I’ve visited.

The thermal baths, the ruin bars, the most beautiful cafe in the world — it delivers on every front. And then there’s the Parliament building.

I never once got sick of looking at it. I saw it from Fisherman’s Bastion, from a rooftop restaurant, from Tram 2 along the river — but nothing compares to seeing it lit up from the water at night on a Danube river cruise. Just an hour long, one free drink in hand, and it might honestly be the best hour you spend in the entire city.
Budapest at night is in a league of its own.

Budapest has thermal baths fed by natural hot springs, ruin bars built inside literally crumbling buildings, and one of the most stunning parliament buildings in the world — all at a fraction of the cost of Western Europe. It’s feels like Paris cooler cousin

not into the insane Trevi Fountain crowds? same, h not into the insane Trevi Fountain crowds? same, here’s the best Rome hack for visiting Trevi⬇️

The piazza around Trevi is tiny and always absolutely chaotic — which means the best view of it is definitely not from it. Two rooftops that fix this:

🍷Roof Garden at Hotel Relais Fontana Di Trevi — open to the public, open-air, partially obstructed views but the vibe is unmatched. Only a few tables face the fountain but they rotate people up if you’re patient. Worth every second of the wait. I also loved staying at this hotel

🥂Hotel Fontana — fully unobstructed views (glass walls make photos tricky though), €20/person includes one drink. Pricier, but zero elbows in your face.

My pick is Relais every time even though the views are not as straight on — but honestly both beat standing down in that chaos.

Accidentally stumbled onto this rooftop in Prague Accidentally stumbled onto this rooftop in Prague with no plans and no reservation, and it was perfect 🤍 my favorite kind of discovery

📍Hotel U Prince

The views over Old Town Square are genuinely unreal — and at golden hour? Unreal doesn’t even cover it. Prague already feels like a fairytale from street level, and then you go up and the whole city turns gold and it’s magic

I walked in late afternoon on a whim and got a table with drinks and that view. Sometimes the unplanned things are the best things.
